Vistry secures approval for 355 Stratford homes

Vistry has received planning permission for 355 homes in Stratford, the first phase of its Pudding Mill Lane development in Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park.

Newham Council has approved the application which was filed by a JV between Vistry and the London Legacy Development Corporation (LLDC).

Of the 355 homes delivered in phase one, 282 will be affordable.

The homes will be delivered across a mix of tenures including 191 intermediate homes and 91 social rent homes.

Construction is anticipated to begin in Autumn 2026.

Overall, the masterplan aims to deliver over 1,000 new homes with 30,000 sq m of new commercial space, green spaces and community infrastructure.

A reserved matters planning application for phase two is anticipated this summer.

“Securing planning approval for phase one at Pudding Mill Lane is a significant step forward in delivering a new, mixed?tenure neighbourhood for east London,” said Rob Wilkinson, managing director at Vistry South London.

“We look forward to starting construction this autumn, where we will continue to work closely with LLDC to bring forward a thriving new community.”

Darren Parker, executive director for development at LLDC, added: “This decision marks a significant step forward for our JV with Vistry and for the continued evolution of Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park.

“By bringing forward the affordable homes within this development, we are reinforcing our long-term commitment to building mixed, sustainable communities that reflect and support the communities of east London as part of the 2012 Games legacy.”
